Certification
All prospective CRRPC members, regardless of skill level, are required to complete a short certification process before being granted membership and access to launch without supervision.
The purpose of the certification process is to fulfill CRRPC’s “Safety-Always-First” commitment, which necessitates that the technical and boat-handling skills of all members be evaluated for compliance with CRRPC’s experience requirement, and that all members be provided with the safety and navigational instruction required for operation of human-powered craft on an urban waterway.
As a guide, most individuals who have at a minimum followed a year-long course of paddling or sculling instruction will be able to demonstrate compliance with CRRPC’s experience requirement.
