CRRPC is a not-for-profit, strictly volunteer organization and as such, all members are also required to take an ownership interest in the work of the organization and commit as equal partners to maintaining CRRPC operations.

Access to the Main Branch of the Chicago River for the pursuit of paddling and rowing is currently a delicate privilege, the enjoyment of which is conditioned upon each member’s demonstrated contributions to maintaining the privilege.

As a social organization whose mission is creation of a unique facility for ultimately providing programming for broad-based public benefit, membership in CRRPC involves not only one’s
own current enjoyment of the Chicago River, but also carries with it a sober responsibility to generations of Chicagoans and international visitors yet to come; so that one day they also may enjoy the privilege of access to the Main Branch of the Chicago River in human-powered craft.
